Lakota Saddle Bag My family is from South Dakota. My Grandmother was raised on a ranch in the south eastern corner. I visited Rapid City as a child, but really don’t remember much. A few summers ago, I decided to revisit my family’s roots. Our road trip took us to the Crazy Horse Monument and a beautiful collection of Lakota quill and bead work. What appealed most to me was the bright colors, geometric patterns and texture of their work. Here I found the inspiration for the Lakota Saddle Bag. The Lakota Saddle Bag is a simplified needle felted version of a traditional Lakota design. Accompanied by: A history of Lakota Quill and Bead Work, and Lakota Plum Cake Recipe
