Star Fish Caps

The adult and small fry versions of this cap were inspired by a trip to Cumberland Island, Georgia. The yarn colors reflect the rich neutrals of the seaside. It was early spring when I boarded the ferry for the journey that threaded through the live oaks to the broad beaches banding the Atlantic. The sun was warm but the wind off the water was cold and I hadn’t packed a hat. If you choose to visit Cumberland in the spring, I strongly suggest a hat project for your road trip. You can have it ready to pop on your head before you arrive. I decided to call this project “starfish caps” because as you decease the crown of the cap a star forms.
